Another one of my favorite vendors at the show is nComputing. I have been following their products for several years now and I see this as a great option to add workstations at a district for a very minimal cost.
The recently released X550 product consists of a PCI card for the host computer that connects the five client extenders. Up to two kits can be installed in the host system letting you expand a single traditional computer into 11 dedicated workstations.
Its difficult to judge from the picture, but the 11 workstations are running applications from streaming video, flash, and other apps with no noticeable loss of performance even though they are all being powered by one d
Dell quad core workstation with two gigs of ram.
If you can participate with the Iowa AV Coop they are offering a turnkey nComputing solution for around $1600 that includes the host computer with the nComputing solution pre-installed and properly licensed with Microsoft.
